Established 2007
English Amputee & Les Autres Bowls Association was formed in 2007, originally from the bowls section of a multi-sports organisation, the British Amputee & Les Autres Sports Association.
EALABA is one of the three sports disability bowls groups, the other two being British Wheelchair Bowls Association and Visually Impaired Bowls England.
Our current bowls membership is over 30, which we are constantly striving to increase. More than 10 of which have represented England or/and Great Britain at various international events. Members come from all over England and plus one member from Northern Ireland.
We have three qualified coaches, Coach Bowls and EBCS certificated insured, who offer coaching on a group basis and as individual members.
We hold two National championships, indoor singles & drawn pairs. Also, we challenge other bowls Clubs on our training / match days.
We compete in various Disability Bowls England competitions, Singles & Pairs, and represent DBE in interclub taster/matches throughout the year. Some members compete at International level for DBE.
Our world governing body is International Bowls for the Disabled (IBD) which hosts a world championship every four years. Five of our current membership have participated in a number of these.
Whilst we play our matches at various venues our main base is Tamworth & District Bowls Club, Eagle Drive, Amington, Tamworth. B77 4EG.
