EALABA and disability bowls
There three main para disability bowls groups – British Wheelchair Bowls Association (BWBA) and Visually Impaired Bowls England (VIBE)and EALABA. We all feed into the EIBA and Bowls England, governing bodies for indoor (EIBA) and outdoor bowls (BE). The future may see these bodies amalgamating into one.
Current membership is over 40. We meet 4 times in the year holding singles and pairs championships then 2 event days including challenge matches, against the home venue Club or a visiting team. Full catering is available at our venue.
About EALABA and International Disability Bowls
Some of our bowlers have competed at National level. Previously, members competed at the 2014 & 22 Commonwealth Games, LD (Neuro Diverse) Munro Cup Tri Nations, 2022 to 26, and 2024 IBD World Finals, South Africa.
Preparation will start this autumn for the 2027 LD Munro Cup Tri Nations in England, subsequently, some members will attending performance training squad days trying to gain selection, this could be your chance.
Our tournaments
We hold two Indoor Championships, indoor singles and pairs. They can run over more than one day. Andy Thomson, our Patron, presents the singles trophy. See our Events for more details.

Our Challenge Days. When we have a morning session we can include coaching if needed plus general practice/roll up. Our coaches are Coach Bowls certificated, insured, DBS checked and Safeguarding Trained. Purposeful practice programmes are available to test skills, and teach new skills, aiding your enjoyment and success. We coach on an individual basis, in a group and in teams. IT IS UP TO YOU!
The afternoon session is match time, and these are normally triples games. Most importantly teams are selected on a mixed ability basis which undoubtedly adds to our social interaction. Many maintain regular direct contact outside of EALABA, in addition, to our WhatsApp members only group.

Firstly, we keep members informed through our News section. Along with direct emails, WhatsApp and, also, telephone calls. Match reports including photos are recorded within our News section whereas past photographic records are Archived annually.
Where we play
We have based our indoor home rink at Tamworth I B C, Staffordshire.
