Another 12 successful year for EALABA. So many of our members competed at a high level, inclusively, through the EIBA and Bowls England, and some with International honours. Bowls International Magazine covered all these events including England’s third Munro Cup featuring 12 of our members. An amazing 2025.
However, the greatest honour goes to one of our founder members Bob Love. His support of our sport of bowls, spans many, many years from Club through various County levels, Disability Bowls England, Home Internationals to IBD World Bowls.
Bob is a quiet person with a great personality, loved by all who come in contact with him. The culmination of Bob’s phenomenal involvement in our great sport is being awarded the British Empire Medal by Kings Charles III in his new years honours list 2024/25. Bob eventually received his honour on December 12th and presented by the Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk, Clare, Countess of Euston.

Amazing 2025, now for 2026.
We go into the new year with long term member, Colin Wagstaff, having been put forward through Bowls England for a Diversity and Inclusion Award. Colin has worked tirelessly over many years promoting disability bowls through DBE, Club, County and National level. For more information follows the following link:- https://www.facebook.com/share/p/14UFXjqgX9D/ . Good luck Colin.
Next in our year, so far, is a series of Events commencing with a challenge match day on 28th February, at Tamworth IBC playing mixed triples against a select Tamworth team.
April 11th brings another challenge match day, at the previous venue, with surprise opponents.
September, and October, are the months for our Singles and Pairs Competitions. We are investigating new dates, and possibly new venues, to prevent clashes with National Competitions.
Membership is open to bowlers with a disability. Our nominal subscription helps cover rink hire, trophies and administration costs. EALABA welcomes support from members families, supporters, and friends.
We feed into, and complement the activities for bowlers with a disability, through the indoor bowls governing body, EIBA, and outdoor Bowls England. Working together to be all inclusive, and ONE.
